Company
Profile
Northwest PACS Network, Inc. (NwPACS), a Systems
Integrator owned by Columbia Ventures Corporation, one of Washington’s
largest private companies, provides state-of-the-art solutions for
the capture, retrieval, networking, display, transmission and storage
of medical digital images while charging only a simple “fee-per-study”
thereby achieving a superior value-to-cost ratio.
We accomplish
this by COMBINING:
- Linux-based,
WWW-enabled proprietary PACS software from Intelerad Medical Systems
(we are the exclusive distributor in the Northwest);
- KODAK leading-edge
filmless radiology hardware (where desired);
- Dell computer
products; and
- Ultra-secure,
off-site, redundant digital image storage,
WITH:
- Our own Intel-based
servers and mass-storage devices that are designed and assembled
by our own technicians, and
- A commitment
to customer service excellence with active monitoring of system
performance throughout the life of the relationship.
Our
Vision
We bring 21st Century digital image technology to the health services
industry in such a way as to set the industry’s highest value
standard for providing end-to-end PACS solutions, including hardware,
software, support and management services.
Our
Philosophy
We are determined to create “mission critical” hardware/software
solutions that make sense from each user’s perspective, from
an administrator’s perspective, and from the financial viewpoint.
Our goals are to make a difference and to enjoy the journey - and
to share the satisfaction of a job well done with our clients.
Background
Columbia Ventures Corporation founded NwPACS in 2001 for the express
purpose of bringing affordable 21st Century digital image technology
within reach of all health services providers, whether a small,
rural hospital or a large research/teaching institution. Rather
than creating new software or inventing exotic hardware, the goal
was to fashion a package of leading-edge technology, a customer-centered
focus and solid financing that would together form an exceptional
value.
Intelerad started
in 1999 as a spin-off from years of implementing PACS at one of
Canada’s largest university teaching hospitals. The founders,
who continue to be active in their business, have extensive backgrounds
in medical imaging, physics, computer, electrical and biomedical
engineering. Their PACS research and development work has been widely
published and presented at many international conferences, winning
various awards along the way. Their products are installed and operating
in New Zealand, Canada, the United States and Europe. Intelerad’s
Intelepacs software is currently archiving and managing in excess
of 1,000,000 studies per year and this number is growing rapidly. |
